Across the academic world, the field of Israel Studies is rapidly growing. Going beyond the basic conflicts, Israel Studies focuses on modern Israel's history, vibrant society, culture, multiethnic democracy, and complex geopolitical challenges.

At a ceremony attended by Henry Kissinger and Charles Shultz, these four students were awarded the 2015 George and Charlotte Shultz Fellowship for Modren Israel Studies. The fellowship will allow the students, coming from a wide variety of disciplines and academic interests, to conduct field study work in Israel.

Faculty Trips to Israel

Summer Institute for Israel Studies

The Summer Institute for Israel Studies has trained over 225 faculty at colleges and universities to design courses on Israel Studies. Recent participants teach history, international relations, arts, Jewish studies, religion, law, anthropology, linguistics, and security studies. Israel Study tour: June 30, 2015 - July 9, 2015.

Foundation for Defense of Democracies
National Security Trip to Israel

FDD’s National Security Trip to Israel is a seven day trip for D.C.-area young professionals pursuing careers in national security. Previous National Security Trips to Israel included private meetings with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Ron Dermer (current Israeli Ambassador to the U.S.), Meir Dagan (former Director of the Mossad), Shaul Mofaz (former Minister of Defense), Mark Regev (international spokesman for the Prime Minister of Israel) and other senior Israeli government officials as well as Palestinian officials.
